Chimney Rock hiking was gorgeous and the village had something for all ages and at the end of the day the home we rented was beautiful to come back to.

We have enjoyed every minute of our stay at Lake Lure's Hide-a-way and are very sad to leave tomorrow. We are a family of 5 with kids age 9, 8, & 5 and not once did we hear "I'm bored" from any of them. The house is large enough that we are not on top of each other. The kids had a blast in the basement game room playing air hockey, ping pong and foosball. There is also another bedroom in the basement, which makes a total of 4 bedrooms (property description only states 3). The property is very secluded, only one neighbor and you can't see their home from the property. I will miss my peaceful mornings drinking coffee in the screened in back deck, where I seen deer every day. We also spent a lot of time relaxing in the hot tub. There is a swing set and a trail behind the property for the kids to explore. The property is within walking distance to the flowering bridge and the lake's beach. The beach was closed this week as the local kids were back to school, but it is open on the weekends and that is where we are planning on spending our entire day. Chimney Rock Village is less than 1 mile away and has several shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend the river walk-beautiful! We enjoyed our breakfast sitting on the river at Genny's. There is also a nice Mexican restaurant in Lake Lure. Ingles grocery store is not far and has everything you need to cook meals at the house. We made a delicious salad for dinner one night from their wonderful salad bar. There were so many things to do in the area that we were busy the entire week, but still missed a few things - Sliding Rock will have to wait till next year. We spent a day tubing on the Green River; had a lot of fun but was a little scary in sections with the kids as there were class 1&2 rapids. Linville Caverns and Linville Falls is a great day trip, & you must drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Linville-Incredible views! DuPont state park is also worth the trip, there are several beautiful waterfalls to hike to and you can even swim at Hooker Falls. We had a wonderful stay here at the Hide-a-way and are definitely planning another trip next year!

April 30, 2017  This house is amazing. Perfect location and a great layout with plenty of space for your travel party. Ideal for enjoying all the amazing attractions Lake Lure has to offer. Highly recommend this property for your next trip, whatever the occasion it may be. Great experience with a great host as well. ”

Wonderful home in a beautiful area!
We loved our stay. The house is spacious with plenty of room for big families or multiple families. Sleeps 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large couch in living room and lots of room for children to play especially in basement where there is ping pong, air hockey and foosball tables. We loved the back porch looking out into the mountains (can see Chimney Rock from backyard) and the hot tub is a plus. Now the area can't be beat! Some of the most beautiful scenery in America with all the mountains and Lake Lure. We visited Chimney Rock, Hendersonville - DuPont State Forest, Biltmore Estate in Asheville, Black Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway and even took a day trip to Charleston, SC to see the ocean. Plenty of things to do and see, and it was nice to come home to this cozy rental to sleep and relax. Lots of very good restaurants within short driving time located in Chimney Rock and Lake Lure (can easily walk or bike from house) and Hendersonville (20 min car ride). My family had the vacation of a lifetime and this house made it that much more special. Highly recommend staying and experiencing the mountains!
