TOP 4 Reasons for your WNC Mountain Getaway this Fall-

#1 Leaf Peeping is the Top Reason!
Here are our Fall Foliage Tips:

When is the Peak Color?
The best time to see Blue Ridge Mountain Fall Foliage is anywhere from mid-October to early/mid-November colors Pop across our Western North Carolina mountains. Our Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains have one of the longest Autumn color seasons in the country!
Why do we get such colorful landscape here?
Our many 6,000-foot peaks (highest in eastern USA), along with the deep valleys and varying micro climates all add up to glorious colors.
What species of Trees add to the colors?
The landscape here is heavily populated with sugar Maples, Hickories, Sweetgum, Scarlet Oaks, Red Maples and nearly 100 other species of native trees that add to the kaleidoscope of leaf colors for many weeks.
Where to see the Best Foliage:
Take a Drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway; stop at Wagon Road Gap, Pounding Mill Overlook, Cherry Cove or Doubletop Mountain Overlook.
Our favorite recommended Trails and local venues, trails and houses for views and colorful paths:

GARDEN JUBILEE WILL GO ON!

From the Hendersonville Visitor Center: 4/30/2020:

Big announcement! This year’s annual Garden Jubilee will still go on this Memorial Day Weekend, but with a few modifications to help ensure the safety of all vendors and patrons amid coronavirus concerns, and in order to follow federal and state mandated guidelines for cleaning, social distancing and limiting crowd size.
Here’s the breakdown: Garden Jubilee will be moved off of Main Street Hendersonville out to the Hendersonville area farms, nurseries and orchards, making it more of a Nursery & Orchards Tour. Each venue will host a few craft or other garden related themed vendors at their location, meaning you will still be able to find plant starts, yard art, gardening supplies, produce, jams, jellies, honey, cider, baked goods and all of the other great buys you typically find at Garden Jubilee. This year, it will go from May 22 – 25, Friday through Monday of Memorial Day Weekend, from 9 am – 5 pm daily.
Garden Jubilee is one of the largest gardening shows in the Southeast and was named as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s “Top 20 Events in the Southeast” for May 2020.
A brochure and map will be available closer to the event date, but for now, get all of the details (locations will be added as they are confirmed) at

https://www.visithendersonvillenc.org/garden-jubilee.

In 2020 we will be writing a story for the Sarasota Post sincee many of our guests come up to the mountains to stay with us at WNC Mountain Rentals.
We will write about local events coming up here in Hendersonville, NC, maybe a tip on where to hike, eat, stay, a new vacation home and more.   Check out our stories here…
