| North Carolina`s State Theatre is located right here in Flat Rock, NC. It`s been open and entertaining audiences for over 60 years. Flat Rock Playhouse offers Broadway-quality entertainment at a fraction of Broadway prices. It produces a variety of comedies, musicals, farces, and dramas. The Flat Rock Playhouse theatre downtown provides an intimate setting with 250 seats in a horseshoe around the stage.
The Playhouse presents matinee and evening performances from Feb. to Dec. every year.

| Historic Johnson Farm offers Guided Tours, Special Events, Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists, Self Guilded Audio Tours, School Field Trips and more. The entire structure was handmade from bricks that were fired on site from French Broad River mud. OVer the years, many outbuildings were constructed, including a tool shed/blacksmith shop, barn, boarding house and a cottage.
